Project Manager Job Description

Summary

The Project Manager has the dual responsibilities of acting both as the client liaison and manager of a production team.  Reporting to the CEO, the Project Manager must maintain a high quality of work, organization, and efficiency in production resulting ultimately in client satisfaction-while maintaining a high level of team morale throughout the development process. 

The Project Manager has a solid understanding of Internet technology and experience calling on major corporations and high-profile clients.  The qualified candidate will have two or more years of related experience, outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills, and a drive for results.  Target audience includes political candidates, public affairs campaigns, national organizations, trade groups, government agencies, and large corporations.
 
Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferred
  • Structured methodologies and/or project management framework experience desirable
  • Sales or marketing experience helpful
  • Proven track record of setting and achieving goals
  • Strong understanding of Internet technology, plus related products and services
  • Fluency in HTML/CSS required
  • Competency in SQL preferred

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate, coordinate, and motivate project development teams, clients and management; ensuring that management knows status and needs at any given time. 
  • Complete all tasks in a top-quality and efficient manner to meet or exceed the goals set at inception.
  • Responsible for understanding and monitoring budget requirements.
  • Perform a post-project review for self and team performance to see how project excelled and where improvement is needed. 
  • Proposal/contract review for accuracy and feasibility prior to client review.
  • Maximize revenue by identifying opportunities and securing new and existing Client contracts in order to meet and/or exceed company goals and objectives.
  • Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals. 
  • Work may require travel. 
  • Other activities may include conducting new Internet product and service research and/or experiment with new methods, processes, technologies and tools.  
  • May be asked to fill other duties and responsibilities on a case-by-case basis, or permanently, as those other duties arise.

  • Technical/Professional Knowledge - Must have intimate knowledge of Internet and computer technology, as well as understanding of grassroots, issue advocacy and public affairs.
  • Attention to detail - Must be able to produce high quality, accurate correspondence and presentations.  
  • Organization - Must be able to handle multiple activities at once, uses resources effectively and efficiently; consistently follows up/through.
  • Customer Focus - Must be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Listening - Must have the patience for attentive and active listening and the ability to to accurately restate the opinions of others even when he/she disagrees.
  • Negotiating - Must be able to negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups.
